If you are planning to travel Vietnam, Da Nang is one of the greatest choices to consider. And below I will give you my recommendation about Da Nang travel which includes the must-places to visit.

1. Sun world – Ba Na Hills

We usually say that Da Nang travel must be with Ba Na Hills travel. Ba Na Hills is built by Sun Group (a Vietnamese Corporation and known as the investment owner of Sun World Ba Na Hills Project). It is a mountain resort of Da Nang Province in Vietnam with a 5 km-long cable car system which carries guests up to Ba Na’s peak at 1487m above sea level. This place is introduced as a place for you to revel yourselves in the typical rotation of four seasons in a single day and numerous festivities, recreations and relaxation and cuisine.

1.1. How to go to Ba Na Hills

There are two ways to go to Ba Na Hills. One way is to go there by the bus of Sun Group waiting for the guests in Sun World Da Nang Wonders (a theme park in Da Nang). The other way is to drive there or hire a car driving you there. You can buy the ticket before driving to Ba Na Hills and take the ticket at the ticketing lobby. After getting ticket, we will come to the cable location. It takes about 15 or 20 minutes to be in cable car to the hills. You can spend this time seeing the natural mountains and forest from the cable car.

In the first time coming to Ba Na, I stayed here from the evening until night. In the evening, I had to go through two stages of cable car from starting point to the Golden Bridge and from the Golden Bridge to the French Village. But when I went down at night, there was only one stage from the French Village directly back to the starting point.

For the second time, I chose to visit from the morning to the afternoon. Firstly, I only had to go by one stage of cable car directly from the starting point to the French Village. In the afternoon, when coming back to the starting point, there were two stages of cable car, which was opposite to the first time coming.

1.2. What to enjoy in Ba Na Hills

The Goldn Bridge

The most outstanding feature of Sun World Ba Na Hills is the Golden Bridge. It is built by Sun Group (a Vietnamese Corporation, known as the investment owner of Sun World Ba Na Hills Project). The Golden Bridge is actually an iconic architectural wonder that envisages the sash-like route across the heaven at the height of 1,414m from the sea level. This Bridge was voted by TIME magazine as one of the “Top 10 best destinations of the world 2018” and admired by The Guardian as “The world’s most impressive pedestrians’ bridge”.

Below is a video I found on Youtube introducing the beauty of the Golden Bridge.

The flower gardens

You can enjoy the times in many gardens with variety of beautiful flowers. I know that flowers can be found everywhere, not only in Ba Na, and normally I don’t really enjoy the gardens. However, the beautiful gardens on the high mountains there turned Ba Na into the real paradise on earth.

The French Village

This place reenacts an old fashioned and tranquil France lined with recognizable classical landmarks such as the square, church, town, old village and inns. With many castles on the high mountains, taking photographs here was an incredible experience.

If you are from the countries in Europe, I think you have been familiar with these kinds of architecture. But If you are not, maybe you are like me. I find it interesting.

In the main square of the French Village, there are many music live show and dance art. I think you will have fun there.

1.3. The weather in Ba Na Hills

They said that you can experience 4 seasons in a day.

The first time I was there was only from 4pm until 10pm. So I had opportunity to witness 2 seasons in 6 hours: from Autumn to Winter I think. The Autumns was from the moment I came to 6pm or 7pm which was the time I had dinner in a restaurant and had no idea about the temperature outside. After going out, I was a little bit shocked because of the cold weather. Luckily, I had prepared for myself a wool scarf to make me feel warmer, but I think it is necessary to have a sweater or a coat.

For the second time coming, I spent time from 9am until 4pm. It was windy but too sunny, too. And I love it.

2. Hoi An Old Town

If you are planning for Da Nang travel, Hoi An is also a place that you can consider to come. Hoi An is located in Quang Nam Province which is about 30km from Da Nang. This Old Town is the city’s historic district. It is recognized as an exceptionally well-preserved example of a Southeast Asian trading port dating from the 15th to the 19th century. Its buildings and street plan reflects a blend of indigenous and foreign influences.

I think the best time for traveling Hoi An Old Town is from the evening until night. In the evening, you can explore the streets, the architecture and the cuisine. At night, you can join the lantern festival and take a boat to ride on the river.

Below is a short clip I made when I was in Hoi An.

Another attraction is the Hoi An Lantern Full Moon Festival taking place every full moon cycle. The celebrations honour the ancestors. People exchange flowers, lanterns, candles, and fruits for prosperity and good fortune.

If you love lantern, you can refer to this video I have found on Youtube.

3. Other bridges of Da Nang

Da Nang is not only famous as a coastal city but also as a city of bridges. Some famous bridges that can not be ignored in Da Nang include Han River Bridge (the first swing bridge of Vietnam), the Dragon Bridge (the bridge with a pyrotechnic show every weekend after sunset), Thuan Phuoc Bridge (the longest cabled – stay bridge of Vietnam)…

I also love the Love Lock Bridge. It is the walking bridge which many love padlocks carved names, initials and messages of love are locked on. The Love Lock bridge with the length of 68 meters and the width of only 6 meters is an ideal attraction of couples in love, especially for walking and sightseeing. If you want to enjoy the romance, you may come with your love at night to enjoy the shimmer from the colored lights and the fresh cool breeze. But if you love to take photographs, coming in the daytime will be a wonderful choice.

That’s all I want to introduce about Da Nang. When I have free time, I think I will have a post about the cuisine here. I hope you’re gonna have happy time with the plan of Da Nang travel.
